At the Pineville Church of Christ, we keep it simple and Biblical. We add nothing to what you see in Scripture.
We sing a cappella as Jesus and his disciples did (Mt. 26:30), as well as the churches in Corinth (1 Cor. 14:15), Ephesus (Eph. 5:19), and Colossae (Colossians 3:16).
Prayers are led expressing praise, requests, and thanksgiving to God.
The sermon will be pulled directly from Scripture and presented with modern day relevance. On Sunday mornings and evenings, an invitation is extended to our members and anyone from the community. During this time, someone may make a commitment to Christ and desire to be baptized for the forgiveness of their sins.
On the night of Jesus' betrayal, he broke bread and shared the fruit of the vine with his disciples. With this, he instituted what we refer to as the Lord's supper. It's so much greater than any earthly meal. It represents the presence of Jesus and being filled up with spiritual blessings in Him. As the bread and fruit of the vine are consumed, we think deeply on his sacrifice and how unworthy we were, but we also rejoice knowing that his resurrection became the guarantee of our inheritance in heaven.
A contribution box is stationed at the entrance into our auditorium. As Christians, we give every first day of the week (1 Cor. 16:1-2). We give out of an indebtedness to the grace that has been shown to us, and to support our ministries, programs, overseas missionaries, and upkeep of the building.
