Help a Child

  • There is a family who needs a buddy for their daughter with Down Syndrome to be included in zoo camp at the Alexandria Zoo, June 17-21. 
  • She is 7 years old and was adopted from Nanchang, China.
  • Requirements: age 16+, have your own transportation, and be there from 8:45 until noon each day
  • The family will pay you $150.

Help with Utilities

  • We want to let seniors know there is a one-time $200 help with utilities available.
  • You must be at least 60 years old.
  • You can get an application at the RCOA, your local senior center, or the Cenla Area Agency on Aging at 1400 Peterman in Alexandria.
  • You must have a current utility bill, drivers license or state I.D., and proof of household income (2024).
